Two illustrations: Brecht, Beethoven

This year, the Goethe-Institut has provided me the opportunity to create two editorial illustrations for their quarterly program brochures. Check them out!

In this one, playwright Bertholt Brecht’s own signature drips down over his face and glasses over a yellow field.

In honor of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, I created this reinterpretation of the composer’s famous bust, translating light and dark values into parallel lines of varying width that represent sound waves.
